Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing stay and not aligned with what we expect from an IHG affiliated property, especially as Platinum Elite members. Check in was extremely slow. We waited over 45 minutes and were eventually given a room that was noisy and substandard. The noise was not from outside but from adjacent rooms. We could hear toilets flushing throughout the night. The room itself was in poor condition with visible wall stains, a dirty carpet, smoke coming through the windows, and an uncomfortable bed that caused neck and back pain. We escalated the issue to both the hotel and IHG at 21:35 the night before departure. From that point until we left at 13:41 the following day, there was no attempt by management to contact us or offer a remedy, despite hours passing and escalation channels being used. In the absence of any response or support, we chose to leave early. To be clear staff members Sami and Hafez were genuinely kind, welcoming, and the best service we experienced during our stay. Unfortunately, their positive attitude does not compensate for poor room conditions, lack of management response, and billing practices that charged for an unused night despite aforementioned concerns. Overall, this experience felt far below acceptable hotel standards and does not reflect the consistency or quality we have experienced with the IHG brand. I highly do not recommend staying here.

Hotel is in a fantastic location walkable to the Cologne Cathedral, Fatima House Eau de Cologne Museum and Chocolate Factory. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast was an extra cost, not cheap but good. Room was decent sized by European standards. There is a great pizza/Italian restaurant right across from the hotel. One big downside during our stay was that the elevator was out of service for a chunk of our stay making it tougher to get luggage downstairs. Other minor downside is that parking is down the street about 100 yards so you'll have to coordinate luggage drop off if you have a lot of bags. Parking is €20 per 24 hours and only cash was accepted. Would recommend especially if you want to be near all the big sites.

Still not sure what to think about this hotel. Staff were nice. I’m not sure how safe I felt as a female solo traveller. The room looks modern, but then you realise they’ve done a cheap glow up of a dated hotel. The room was clean and small. Slapping paint over things without doing the hard work didn’t quite give the desired finish. I didn’t feel overly comfortable staying here. I did not eat here so cannot comment.

First time staying at a Garner hotel but found the hotel compact and cozy.||Location is excellent with an easy stroll to the main shopping district, a few minutes walk to Cologne Central Railway station, and easy access to either Heumarkt or Neumarkt and the KVB ( Local subway light rail system)||If you are staying Cologne for Kind un Jugend or other event this hotel has the advantage of being in the heart of Cologne with easy access to such restaurant's as Fruh, XII apostilles amongst others. Its a 5-7 minute walk to the Dom and under 10 minutes to Koln HB||The breakfast area on the ground floor is clean, well lit and comfortable.||The rooms while a bit small are clean, comfortable and well laid out. Little noise considering you are in the center of Cologne in ||The staff are attentive and very pleasant||I would recommend this hotel for business or tourism

The location was fantastic! It was short walking distance from the train station, the Cathedral, shops and restaurants, and the river. That said, I never would have booked here had I noticed that the hotel has no air conditioning. It was too hot to stay in the room during the day, and I sweated through the night with very little sleep despite the small fan that the hotel provides. I assumed that since it was an IHG hotel that the air would be conditioned. As a Diamond member with 30 years of staying in IHG, I had never encountered an IHG hotel with no control over the room temperature. Lesson learned. Use caution when booking here if you cannot tolerate extreme temperatures when sleeping. ||Rooms were quaint, the bed comfortable, the bathroom large size for Europe. It was clean. There was no room cleaning the second day, but they provided new towels upon request. Had the room been cool, we would have been quite happy.||The breakfast was simple and decent even though they asked for our room number too many times as they suspiciously watched us walking around the buffet. The older gentleman was friendly and recognized us when we arrived and checked off our room number on a clipboard, but he apparently had no way to communicate to the buffet staff that we were Diamond members with free breakfast, and other staff are apparently tasked to strictly watch for people eating that have not paid. ||The older gentleman was the one who checked us in, and great thanks to him for allowing early check in. His English was good, but most other staff had a rough time with English. You will need to use Google Translate with them, including some front desk staff.||I would definitely stay here again in WINTER only.

Small hotel with views of the majestic cathedral of Cologne. The rooms are simple and very clean. Not much space in the bedroom nor the shower. Very helpful clerk and personal. In walking distance to the main train station.

Very helpful staff who helps to log my IHG membership. But I couldn't find people to help with room supplies on Saturday evening after 20:30, though it didn't happen on Sunday. The room is cleaner than usual ones in Europe but it's tiny, just enough for one person. The room is rather stuffy but you'll hear the noise throughout the night if you open the window. Kettle unavailable in the room.

I spotted lots negativities about this hotel. Compare the same brand. The place at least provided me a kettle which I like to have hot tea in the morning and night. Other same brand hotel refused. The staff Karam is very nice and always to assist me if I have any problems. This brand hotel in the IHG family is something like Holiday Inn express minus and without breakfast included. Also no A/C. Was lucky in September not too hot or cold. If the brand needs to attract more customers they need to have a/c and breakfast included.
